About Mama Etna
My name is Virginie. I am 45 years old.
I have been a wheelchair user for the past twelve years. This experience taught me something essential: life is too precious not to live your dreams.
Since I was a child, I have loved nature and animals deeply. So when I discovered Sicily, something became obvious to me. I fell in love with this generous land, its nature, its beauty and its incredible energy.
When I realised that I could, at least in part, make a life here, I made myself a promise: to give something back.
To save as many animals as I can.
To give them a safe place, a second chance, and as much happiness as possible.
I have a deal with Etna. I have a deal with Sicily.
And every day, I put all my energy into keeping that promise.
